Lax Kw'alaams / Port Simpson
Lax-Kw'alaams derives from Laxłgu'alaams, also formerly spelled Lach Goo Alams, which means "place of the wild roses,".
Lax-Kw'alaams located on the northwest coast of British Columbia. It is an ancient camping spot of the Gispaxlo'ots tribe.
Lax Kw’alaams are the descendants of the Nine Tribes of the Tsmishian. The Nine Allied Tribes are: Giluts'aaw, Ginadoiks, Ginaxangiik, Gispaxlo'ots, Gitando
, Gitlaan, Gits'iis, Gitwilgyoots, and Gitzaxłaał. The Nine Tribes have lived in their territories for more than 10,000 years and their traditional language is Sm’algyax.
